Hi, my name is Olivia Ryder and I am a private piano teacher. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2020 and have been teaching for 5 years. I recently moved to Sacramento. I grew up in the Bay Area, where my love for music began listening to artists like Joe Zawinul, Bill Evans, and Carole King. After years of classical training I joined my high school jazz band to help expand my knowledge of other genres. Furthering this, I attended Berklee College of Music in 2016 to deepen my skills, sharpen my ear training, and to learn more about jazz harmony and classical theory. Teaching has been my absolute joy since graduating. My teaching philosophy centers around helping students find their own passion for music. I strive to create a comfortable environment for students to have space to make mistakes and explore new genres. I incorporate ear training and music analysis into ever lesson as I believe it is vital to be a well rounded musician.
